Colombo Central Bus Stand to Be Renovated Under Clean Sri Lanka Plan
The government has announced plans to renovate the Colombo Central Bus Stand within the next year as part of the “Clean Sri Lanka” initiative.
In addition to this major upgrade, 50 key bus stands across the country will also be refurbished with the support of the Sri Lanka Air Force.
Renovations at the Colombo Central Bus Stand established in 1964 and serving up to 2,000 buses daily will include improvements to the canteen, rest areas, ticket counters, administrative units, operations room, and driver quarters.
These plans were discussed yesterday (23) at the Presidential Secretariat, in a meeting attended by Transport Minister Bimal Rathnayake, President’s Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Defence Secretary, and senior Air Force officers.
