Hearts United in Faith: Multireligious Participation Marks Historic Pada Yatra to Kataragama

The traditional Pada Yatra (foot pilgrimage) from Jaffna to Kataragama-originally practiced by Hindu devotees—has now transformed into a powerful symbol of unity, with Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims joining the spiritual journey.
Reports reveal that around 40,000 devotees participated in this year’s Pada Yatra to attend the recently concluded Kataragama religious festival.
