Sampath Bank PLC categorically denies the claims published on the digital news website Lanka News Web, alleging that an initial fraudulent transfer of Rs. 5 million in 2023 was directed to its Mullaitivu branch and was not flagged as suspicious.


The Bank confirms that this information is false and does not reflect the factual position. It further affirms that all relevant processes were conducted in full compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and guidelines issued by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka.


Sampath Bank has, at all times, adhered to its reporting obligations, including the submission of all required regulatory reports, in accordance with established regulatory frameworks.
The Bank maintains robust internal controls and governance standards, and continues to operate in accordance with the highest levels of regulatory compliance and oversight.
