Sri Lanka Targets USD 1.8 Billion in Foreign Investment for 2025
Sri Lanka is setting its sights on attracting USD 1.8 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) in 2025, according to the Board of Investment (BOI).
BOI Chairman Arjuna Herath stated that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has recommended a minimum investment target of USD 1 billion. However, he expressed confidence that the country can surpass this, citing growing investor confidence and a more stable economic environment.
Herath noted that ongoing economic reforms and improved fiscal management are positioning Sri Lanka as an attractive destination for global investors, particularly in key development sectors.
