JVP Delegation Led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva Meets BJP National General Secretary and Top Officials
New Delhi / Colombo: A high-level delegation from the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP), led by General Secretary Tilvin Silva, held a special meeting with B. L. Santhosh, the National General Secretary (Organisation) of India’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on September 28. The meeting took place during the delegation’s ongoing study tour of India, following an official invitation extended by the BJP.
During the discussion, the BJP leadership provided an in-depth overview of the party’s history, organisational structure, and its grassroots mechanism for mobilising membership across the country.
The two sides also deliberated on the key development projects and policy initiatives currently being implemented under the leadership of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Both parties underscored the importance of fostering deeper mutual understanding and friendly relations between the primary political parties of Sri Lanka and India to further strengthen bilateral ties and long-standing friendship between the two nations.
Alongside the main bilateral discussions, the JVP delegation engaged in separate interactive sessions with key wing leaders of the BJP, including Shrimati Roopkumari Choudhary, National President of the BJP Mahila Morcha (Women’s Wing), as well as Youth Wing representatives Shri Vineet Vats Tyagi and Bhakti Sharma.
