Operation to Betray the Nation Under the Banner of the Bar Association?

A serious concern has arisen regarding whether several officials of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL), including its President Rajeev Amarasuriya, are engaged in a campaign to betray Sri Lanka before the international community.

This suspicion has intensified following the issuance of a statement in the English media alleging that government MPs threatened the Bar Association inside Parliament on the 19th. Observers view this statement as a distorted attempt aimed at targeting international organizations.

Questions have emerged as to whether a conspiracy is underway to convince international bodies that the current government is threatening even the Bar Association, potentially aiming to jeopardize concessions such as GSP+.
