Races Around the Temple of the Tooth by Namal – What Brings Sunil Kumar?

Taking a major first step toward fostering a sports culture in Sri Lanka and capturing international attention, the Colombo Marathon was held this morning (13).

Athletes representing numerous countries participated in the event, providing Sri Lankans with valuable international-level experience.

During the Mahinda Rajapaksa administration, the “Nil Balakaya” led by Namal Rajapaksa organized motor races around the sacred Temple of the Tooth. In contrast, the current administration is moving to raise Sri Lankan pride globally across various fields, with the Colombo Marathon serving as one such initiative.
