SLPP General Secretary Sagara Kariyawasam Arrested

Sagara Kariyawasam, Attorney-at-Law and General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), has been arrested a short while ago.

The arrest was made in connection with a statement he previously made regarding the Inspector General of Police (IGP), claiming that the IGP might be stoned to death on the street.

Kariyawasam was taken into custody when he arrived at the Central Crime Investigation Bureau today (10) to give a statement regarding the controversial remark.
