There is doubt about getting money for the election – we have to go to court again – Chairman of the Election Commission

Sri Lanka Election Commission Chairman Nimal Punchihewa says it is unlikely that the Ministry of Finance will adequately release the money required by the Election Commission to conduct the scheduled local government elections. As such, there is no other option but to go to court again, says the Commissioner. It is also reported that the Election Commission has decided to meet today (13th) or tomorrow (14th) to discuss the next steps to be taken as the Ministry of Finance is refusing to provide the necessary money. 0 Comments
