Security observers pointing to two criminal figures arrested in India on Saturday (25) highlighted the vast resources poured into these operations—beyond the high fees paid to contract killers. The cases reveal a highly sophisticated, international network designed to facilitate operations and provide safe passage for perpetrators.
Investigations have disclosed that these networks operate across a broad scope within Sri Lanka, providing operatives with firearms, motorcycles, and luxury vehicles, as well as managing escape routes out of the country and securing foreign safe houses. With these organised crime rings having operated with political patronage over past years, the current administration is coordinating with international diplomatic partners to dismantle these networks systematically.
