Sri Lanka Seizes Over Three Tons of Heroin and Meth Since September
Sri Lankan authorities have intensified their crackdown on narcotics, seizing a staggering volume of illegal drugs since September last year.
Among the major hauls, officials intercepted approximately 1,253 kilograms of heroin and 2,121 kilograms of methamphetamine (commonly known as Ice) a record-high in recent years. Additionally, 12,439 kilograms of marijuana, 22 kilograms of cocaine, and millions of illicit drug tablets were confiscated during operations carried out across the country.
The sweeping drug seizures reflect a growing effort by law enforcement and security agencies to curb the flow of dangerous substances into and within the country.
